PHOTOGRAPHY
In
the spring of 1999, Yollocalli students were introduced to the
general field of photography and the basic technical applications
necessary to manipulate a camera. Learning how to use a camera
included problem-solving and math skills. In an interdisciplinary
history workshop, students are learning the complex techniques
necessary to more fully explore the art form, including portrait
and landscape photography, while studying important moments
in Mexican history. At the end of the course students created
student essays regarding their own personal histories, family
biographies, and neighborhood or community histories.
