Three people smiling in a formal setting, with a man holding a program, a woman with bangs in the center, and a taller woman with short hair on the right, in front of blurred ornate background and candelabra.
Two women standing indoors, one holding a large round sign that reads 'Diamond Impact Award, National Museum of Mexican Art'. Behind them, a black wall features logos including 'Beyond the Diamond', 'Chicago White Sox', and 'Wintrust Chicago's Bank'.

Recognition

In 2009, Yollocalli received the prestigious National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, a signature initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This award is the Nation’s highest honor for out-of-school arts and humanities programs that celebrate the creativity of America’s young people.

For the 2009-2010 school year, Yollocalli received a program quality award for Outstanding Teen Programming in a Community-Based Organization from Chicago’s After School Matters organization.

In 2021, Yollocalli was a Best New Artist Finalist in the Third Coast Audio Fest for our Fall 2019 “Your Horror, Your Way –  High School Horror Stories” audio piece.

In 2023, Jardin Malinalli received the Creative Places Award, among the LISC Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards, which recognizes innovative approaches within the Chicago region that use art and culture-centered initiatives to drive community-led development and progress.

In 2025, as part of their 125th anniversary, the Chicago White Sox awarded Yollocalli the Diamond Impact Award! We’re beyond excited to receive a $125,000 grant to support our youth-led digital media programming, including a brand new DJ booth and recording studio in the Yollocalli Fire Station in Little Village.
